outer tie rod torque setting

How much ft. lbs should I tighten the new TRW ones to 22ft/lb?

Where did you get the 22 lb-ft from.
For the outer tie rid end castle nut the procedure I have calls for a range of 35 lb-ft minimum to 52 lb-ft maximum depending on the cotter pin alignment or 18 lb-ft and then an additional 180 degrees. The inner hex nut is 52 lb-ft.
I recall GM supposedly revised the torque figure sometime in 2000-2001 but I am not sure what that is.

Hey Bnaylor, TRW installation sheet in the box stated for my part# its 22ft lbs.

Then follow what the aftermarket manufacturer specifies. The FSM torque specs are for GM/Delco brand parts so it may differ.
