and fresh outta surgury ,,,so cant check things but hopin ta learn what to check....prolem is 2001 s10 crewcab 4.3 vortec 80 k...never giun me any greif...but has been sitting 4 months (driving nuthar car) went to fire it up (to use fer this surgury)n she wouldnt start...ony pop like flooded (thats what i thought)let here sit no go...finally squirted a shot of either n she started,,,but seems no power like loaded up but wont clean out er like ony runnin on a few cyls...what ended up with is she runs fine ifn yer feeding her the fuel (spaying it down tb) so pulled fuel filter n she had good flow wid key on n replaced fitler,,,but runs same (it dont) no power unless sprayun fuel to her..i dont have a pressure tester either...so could i have a pump go bad jus sittin??? presuuer reg..ony regulates if theres pressure correct? is there any stuff to shoot down tb ta help clean stuck injector?? thanks fer any help people paps ps front two plugs on pass. side n one front plug on drivers side were dry when pulled em...so its a nawt gittin fuel thing i rekon

Rent or but or borrow a fuel pressure gauge.
And run the fuel pressure test on it.

The only true test on a fuel pump is to check the direct fuel pressure from fuel pump.
A quick test is to block off the return line and see if fuel pressure comes up to 75-85 lbs.
But do not run the pump at full pressure very long.
Also when testing fuel pump and pressure you need to tape a gauge to outside windshield or outside mirror and drive it on the road for 20 -30 minutes
until the pump gets has run a while to check for a pump fading out after hot.

Hard to start cold or hot and fuel pressure testing guide lines.
Check cold start fuel pressure.
Check engine running fuel pressure.
Check engine running on the road fuel pressure.
Then shut it off and watch for fast leak down.
Pinch off at rubber part or block off return line and check full pressure.
If pump has full pressure with return line blocked and low pressure without it blocked most usually the fuel pressure regulator is leaking or not holding pressure.
Later V6 and V8 gm engines should have 60-66 fuel pressure.
Cold start should be 64-65 lbs of pressure.
If you do not have full fuel pressure on a cold start the injectors will not squirt fuel.
Do not leave home without it.
Engine running should be 60-66 lbs pressure depending on engine load.
Full pressure with return pinched off should be 75-85 or more.
And if it has a fast leak down after shut off you have a leak in system.
Post back fuel pressure readings.

thank you dude fer the info...i kin hardly walk at moment so ill have time ta find a pressure guage...she wouldnt be driveable though...she starts but literally no power...(i refer to it like 3 clys ifn that)...but will run strong n fine ifn yer hand feeding the fuel...itll be a few daze since jus had surgury so bear wid me n thank you paps

thanks mt...i did start it yesterday n seems a tad more power (like a 40hp now) i put some heet n a lil seafoam in tank...she ll now rev ta 3k full throttle...i hatfa git on it when im lil more movable thanks again

i r back healin good...to finish the truck saga...itll be a month befoe i kin hang over a motor..so broke down n took ta a wrench...425 bucks later ...its runnin fine...he said it were two plugged injectors...so thats where thats at...now git this ..so daughter brings it home n i goes ta look n listen ,,,n she louder!!! seems lost a stud on the exhaust conection (after cat) duaghter runs n snitches fer dad under his truck.(yea i got it chewed purty good) anyways off ta the muffler shop..40 mo bucks...right after surgury daughter pulls in her car loud 114 bucks ta weld it up..so i think i need ta heal up fast er ill be broke ...its palces like this that save ourselves alot of cash peoples..so i say thanks fer havin me ..thanks fer helpin ..later paps
