willy wild

i bought this kit a few months ago as something to throw together and put on my shelf. i built it quick with a flat black paint job, and while looking at it everyday for the past couple months i couldnt take it anymore, so i tore it apart and rebuilt.
its the willy wild kit from snapdraggin/learning curve.
all and all its a great snap together kit, with a satisfying result. one cool thing is that the headlight lenses i used on this kit are actual glass, when i was installing fire alarms i found out if i took the old detectors apart they had two glass lenses inside to 'see' the smoke, score! i harvested as many pairs as i could. the headlight buckets are parts box finds, as the kit doesnt supply any. the kit also comes without a grill so i went digging in the parts box again, i think its from a 34' ford coupe. the paint is flat black base with hok green to gold flip, the ladders as well as inside the scoop are candy red.

constant reminder to be careful with my xacto knife, ha.
actually i was painting up my roommates lunch cooler, and wanted to find the best way to make a controlled splatter. the set of drawers became the testing grounds.
