Engine dies sometimes when driving down the road!!!

Here I am again... Sometimes when I am driving down the road in my 96 Grand Caravan it just dies! It will start right back up, but obviously something is wrong. Also, sometimes the tranny will not shift. When it does this, I can turn off the engine and continue driving and it will shift! Can anyone help? I have recently changed the fluid and filter and, yes, I have checked the fluid level and it is fine.

Which engine?

Have you checked for codes by either the key dance or go to autozone and they will read the codes for free, or parts stores may also do this.

Key dance= turn ignition seitch on/off, on/off, on within 5 seconds and count the check engine light flashes. Example- flash pause flash, flash means code 12.

FOr the tranny not shifting check the connections to input and output sensor and solenoid pack. Check for moisture inthe solenoid pack connector and check input and output sensors for failure.
