First of my 1991 chevy caprice has sat for about a year. I just put a tranny in and had to replace the dash. After a lil messin and timing adjustment, it starts, and sounds real nice as long as you give it some gas, let off and it dies but will start right back up. Any suggestions.
Also after replacing dash I notice that the steering column looks low, and it seems that when its in park its actually somwhere between there and Reverse. You have to literally hold the shifter up in park or its like it wants to jump into reverse. Is there a way to tighten that column up that I'm not seeing, and could that be my reverse deal or would that be back below in the tranny. Any help would be very appreciated.

on the transmission shift lever this is the result of the transmission replacement have the vehicle brought back to repair/check out the detents

If it's just the needle, then that can be adjusted via the little spring clip that attaches the needle cable to the steering column.
