2001 Silverado 5.3L Z71

A little help please. My 2001 Silverado 5.3L 4x4 Z71 truck has been running perfectly until today. I went to the store after shopping I went to start my truck, it turned over drove for about 100 yards and it died. Attempted to restart. It would turn over then die after a few seconds. I tried to push on gas however it would not seem to make a difference. I replaced the battery thinking this may have had someting to do with it however it made no difference.

why the battery???
anyway if you look up your issue here at the forums you will quickly lean that the fuel pump is a common problem especially with owners running on empty.....

fuel pump pressures are needed ....then it goes into other areas....spraying the intake on engine with a small amount of gas if it starts this then increases the likely hood of fuel supply issues...
