Power steering pump?

Hey everyone. Quick question about my power steering. When I first start the car my power steering acts normal. After the vehicle is warm and the car is not moving the steering is very hard to move either direction. It will whine pretty loud and you can smell fluid. It seems to be getting forced out. Should I attempt to drain and replace the fluid? Should I begin looking for a pump? Any troubleshooting advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks All

You need a power steering pump. It's in a bear (pun intended) of a spot down low in the back of the engine compartment. When I did the one on my 99 GT, I took the lines loose from underneath through the wheelwell, then I took the radiator overflow bottle out of the way and removed the bolts that hold the pump to the bracket out from up top. It's not as difficult a job as it looks. It took as long to switch the pulleys over as it did to R&R the pump(make sure you use the right type of puller or you'll ruin your pulley) .
