Okay guys, hows everyone. I'm having yet another problem and yet another hard time diagnosing it. My 92 lumina z34 will start sometimes and yet sometimes after i've been driving it for a while it will not start for the life of it. like it will click and stuff but will not turn over i just got a NEW battery a week ago unfortunatly some acid leaked out of it(not sure if this is the problem). i have a feeling it either has something to do with the fuel pump, because i dont not here it prime everytime when the keys go into the on position. or there was oil on top of my engine last week that had to have come from where the spark plugs are in the front of the engine(only the front three). that also could might be a problem. ummm my fuel fuilter is probably original and shoul probably get it changed even if it doesnt help. but let me know if you guys need anymore information let me know.

Not clear what the issue here is, it sounds like you are saying there is a clicking but no starter engagement?

weird. i was having the same prob for about a week. finally got under it today and noticed one of the bolts on the starter solenoid was loose. it was just hanging in there "oil cooler hose" was basically holding it in place. it would start fine most of the time but once in a while it would just whine and whine till it finally started. anywho, i tightened it down today and it works fine. maybe this is something you should look into. anything is worth looking into.
oh, another thing i've had to fix a few times now is the sway bar bracket on the rear driver side. for some reason i keep snapping the unit that wraps around the fitting. from what i've read on here, this is a common problem with the lums. and this is what causes those loud bangs when turning harsh rights. not a difficult fix, but annoying when you have to do it every few months...
