Hi, I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP (187,000 miles) that has a leaking UIM gasket and would like to replace the plenum and gasket. Does anyone know the part number I need and where to get it? Also, I have a Haynes repair manual to guide me but was wondering if there are any additional steps needed for the supercharged version of the engine. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Technically you do not have a UIM plenum like the N/A L36 3800 engines. Therefore you would be replacing the supercharger to LIM gasket and o-rings. All you have to do is remove the Eaton M90 supercharger. ZZPerformance has the gasket kits. How did you determine you have a problem with the supercharger gasket?

I recently had a chance to bring my vehicle in for the valve cover gasket recall. The dealership recommended replacing the Supercharger seal. I have noticed loss of coolant in the radiator but have yet to see any coolant dripping on the pavement. I also have noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment when coming to a stop on occasion.

How much loss of coolant? The supercharger gasket and the two o-rings for the coolant passages for the throttle body is a possibility. Leak sounds internal. Also, I would not rule out the lower intake manifold (LIM) gaskets. Better to replace all intake gaskets at the same time.

I agree with Bob. The problem could also be the lower intake gasket, and I wouldn't do a supercharger mount or N/A upper plenum without doing the LIM gaskets while I'm in there.
