I've started the process of building this car, and so far I've just put on primer, and I've also painted the chassis. Here is a picture taken a couple of hours after the "priming"

Well, I'm going to paint it in silver metallic, and I will also be more patient and paint all parts :sun:
I'm open for ideas if you have some. Glad to hear them if so ;)

Chris from SAS has a Transkit for this car. Also you should think of new wheels, ways to modify the interior, and the possibility of fitting it w/a detailed engine. Hope this helps.....:D

Also, many people from this forum have done this car and you could run a search to get ideas...

Thanks ;)
I've just got a minor problem.. Here in Norway, and especially in Kristiansand we just have a small hobby-store, and I'm pretty sure that they don't sell wheels. I can always check, but the possibility of me getting some cool wheels or a new wing or something like that is quite little in this crappy city :silly2:
I were thinking about modding it a bit, but as I'm not sure about which parts will be available for me within a short period, I think I will stick to the original. Of course if they have a set of wheels which look nice, or maybe some nice stickers I will grab them immediately.
I just got a nice e-mail. Hobbylink Japan had shipped my RX-7.. Whee! :D

I've got som more pics right here:
The parts came in delicious colours, and it's gonna spare me from a lot of painting. The tail-lights and the blinkers are coloured.
http://home.no.net/nattvig/deler.jpg
I've painted the chassis as I said, but I will have to buy some new colours. I opened a can containing grey metallic, and it actually smelled like gear oil.. uuhh.. I think it will be better with clearer and stronger colours. Besides I lack the gold paint. Gonna get it tomorrow.
http://home.no.net/nattvig/understell2.jpg
Last but not least a closeup on the body. Some tiny bubbles on the hood, but nothing a 800 can't solve ;)

*Update*
Today I bought some new colours, including an airbrush, and som sanding paper. 800 and 1200. All i need now is a compressor to get things running. I think this is going to be a good car. I also received a tip from a friend of mine who works at as a professional painter of car bodies. He said that it should be at least 22 degrees celcius in the room where you paint the body. I guess I will have to take my fan oven into the room I am doing the painting.

not true.. over 15C is ok... and on airbrush, temperature dont have a big influance since the pressure will be suplyed by the compressor and not like a spraycan

yes it will higher the pressure in the can.. this is what I make right now, since temp outside is near -10C and I paint in the garage, so the can are very cold.. I need to warm them a bit

Hey! Thanks for the tip.. I guess what he ment with 22 degrees was to make it perfect or something.. He paints real cars :)
Anyway, I failed to get some new wheels. The dealer said he couldn't get any either..

Another update.. Hope you guys aren't tired of my pictures
The chassis is painted in all colours.
http://home.no.net/nattvig/chassis2.jpg
I put the wheels on.. Looks good. I even put on brembo marks on the calipers and nismo marks on the rims, but the nismo marks are in white, so you can't really tell that they are there.
http://home.no.net/nattvig/chassis.jpg
And finally the coupe is done. I was really satisfied with the blue color I used on both seats and console. What do you think?

Today, but a bit later. The primer has to dry up. Do you think I should make panel lines when I am painting it in silver metallic?
