Hey every one, I'm new to AF. I've been skimming around and find it very interesting. I actually like what I see.
Any way, I haven't looked around enough to see who's done what to their Ravs so please forgive me if the questions that I may ask seem ignorant.
I own, and drive, a 1997 4dr Rav4. The color on it is called purple storm! For a guy like me, the color is the least of my issues. Thankfully, not with the Rav. Any way, I Installed lowering springs from H&R that dropped it down to 1.5"f and 1.4"r. I also installed Bilstein shocks and strut inserts. The ride couldn't be any better. And ,thankfully, the alignment was uneventful. I would have thought that I needed a 1.75" camber kit to adjust for the drop but it wasn't needed. I think that I may have to get a front strut bar but I don't know who makes it for Rav4s in the aftermarket. I'll have to search. Some thing's bound to appear.
I plan on getting some 18" multispoke wheels installed soon but I think it's more prudent to wait till winter time to do it as prices are that much cheaper than in the summer. Sorry, no pics as of yet. I'm kinda on a budget till I get a job. I'll post some pics of my "little Rav that could" soon. I haven't done any thing crazy to it as of yet but there are some things that I'm crazy for just to be thinking about it. My plan, once I start working, is to save and get a 2JZ engine and install it into the Rav. I know that it will involve a lot of fabrication but I have another car to drive once I start what I want. What do you think?
