Problem installing clutch

The clutch on my 1993 4runner recently burned out, and my friends dad was kind enough to help replace it. Everything seemed to go well and i thought we reconnected everything but i have 2 new problems

1 - There is no pressure on the clutch. pressing it makes it immediately fall to teh floor where it will stay until pressure is applied in the opposite direction, then it will shoot out to the normal position.

2 - I attempted to start the car before i noticed the clutch, as i had it pushed in, and it would not. You can hear the starter go but it makes no attempt to turn over.

3 - Not a problem but i noticed when you move the stick around it makes a lot of noise (clicking, etc..) that i did not notice before, also the stick that controls the thing that controls 4wd or 2wd (tranfer case, right?) doesnt want to move.

So i must have done something wrong during the procedings. The only thing i can think of is i did depress the clutch during the removal of the transmission to take the car out of gear.

any help is greatly appreciated

Need more information. Can you disengage the motor from the tranny or not?
The starter just "spins"?? and not engage the flywheel?
It does sound like at least an alignment issue with the clutch fork and throw out bearing.
Can you tell if the clutch fork is lose where it is setting? should be tight.

Did you end up with an extra clutch plate after you were done? (just kidding)

One more thing the starter issue, the pedal, and linkage are pretty much all seperate issuses.

I've seen a similar thing happen when the fork was put in wrong.

It seems like you must have made several errors installing it, and it needs to be pulled out and re-done by the book.
Good luck
