Hi,
I saw that yesterday on their webside.
I´m looking forward to see some pics for the contensts of the kits, as prices will be rather high around 130 Euro ~ 200 $US.

I imagine it will be much like their C6-R kit.

it's ok bro, take it on the brighter side...
99% of S27 kits are raw curbside models & not even with underchassis details, what you've done now is you've presented yourself in a position to blow their USD200,00+ resin kits away...by adding a full engine (modified 360 engine) or opening here & there!
YES! you can do this but not them...their agenda is to start selling & make $$$, but we've got all the time & skills!
i never worried if anyone produce anything that i'm currently scratchbuilding, because i know they can only do so much (apart from MFH, that is) to start making $$$. as for MFH, i counter-strike their excellent resin kits with modified builds that even they have never heard of!
so we call this 'guerilla warfare'!?
it's all up to you...to produce that exclusive ferrari that everyone drools!!!
cheers!

Im about 80% done with scratch builing the new nose, still needs a little more sanding....S27 nose looks pretty spot on.
But I can tell you now that judging by the pics, S27 has the wrong dash :D

The quite bad habit to undersize the wheels is really annoying, especially on an expensive kit (and let's forget the wrong shape...). Furthermore, taillights grille and engine bay look terribly similar to the Fujimi tool… :headshake

Yes, S27 wheels on both the F430 and C6R are badly misshaped. Tecnomodel seems to have the correct front wheel, but the rear seems awefully wrong....
Heaven forbid someone gets it right ;)

It seems. Rear rims are not so sexy as the front ones, they are nearly flat with a shape difficult to be correctly reproduced. As far as I know Tecnomodel used the 3D files from the Factory (since they're officially licensed).
Anyway, thousand times better than S27

Received my ALMS 2007 winner kit today..so here's my initial observations.
They nearly ruined the kit with the rims...(1) they are at least one scale inch too small in diameter(20mm)...(2) the spoke design is a bit off....the Tecnomodel rims look ten times better..(3) the tires in the kit have sidewalls which are too flat and accentuate the inaccurate rim size.:banghead:
I have found some Tamiya slicks which help the situation a lot and may end the end, after the car is assembled, make the rims look acceptable although I may wrap a thin layer of styrene around the rim to increase the diameter a bit. How much luck would I have wrapping styrene around metal??? Casting them in resin first would probably be better but more work.
As for the rest of the kit it's based on the Fujimi 430 which is a good thing. They kept it simple in every area...I'm sure some modelers will want to grind out the resin partial engine bay and do a full detail.
The body looks fabulous in shape and proportion but the panel lines are weird...they look like some sort of rolling gear like tool was used to cut in the panel lines because there are tiny gear like teeth marks in every panel line. The lines are fine enough and probably once primed and painted the tiny teeth pattern will be filled in smooth. Some of the panel lines need some cleaning out too.
The body, dash and chassis are resin...just about other part is made of white metal.
The photo etch sheet is nice, plenty of parts but not so many you'd go insane installing. The weak point of the p/e to me is the replicated mesh which is nice in that it was done in the relief method resulting in a 2D woven look...the problem is it's a bit too course....definitely more course than Tamiya's nylon mesh.
That's it for now. If anyone else receives their kit please post here your opinions.
