We have an auto recycler near my house which has an excess number of 5.3l engines from tahoes and avalanches, and they are willing to sell them pretty cheap.
The only thing with a swap like this that ive found difficult on the research is whether a regular 4l60 (not 4l60e) would bolt right up to this engine.
Does anyone know the answer to this??

In case anyone is interested I found an answer
The answer is yes the 4l60 [700r4] will work with a newer 5.3l LS engine. The only thing you need is a flex plate and a flex plate spacer.
