Hello To All, Ricers, Muscle Heads, Import Specialists, Truccers, Bikers, Whatever! Since I Own Two Cars Now...Im Glad To Be Such A Part Of A Wonderful wonderful forum! 2 Engine Revs for Quad Exhausts and Turbo charges and 3 Engine Revs For Shelby Cobras, Aston Martins, and Callaway Spiders (VROOM!) Im relatively new when it comes to cars and i got a real problem to fix...I recently brought a 1994 Olds Cutty Supreme V6 3.1 Liter Automatic with 161,000 Miles on it...thats been sitting in my partner in crime's driveway for about a year...me and him took it to get it fixed...so far it needed a new battery, new serpentine belt, and new water pump.....it cranks and drives good although it takes about 10 minutes to warm up or flooring the gas till about 4th gear (im thinking thats a transmission problem?) but last night it overheated on my way to work after travelling about 30 miles at about 75 80 mph.....i felt something was up because my temperature gauge on the car would jump up to 260+ and come bacc down at a even 200 then just went right up to 260 engine died and i had to coast to the side of the road....so far i added engine coolant (50/50 pre mixed) and a good samaritin (whoever u was, thank u dude, may god bless) also added more coolant when i was pulled over on the side of the road...the old coolant wasnt flushed though...now my concern is that the coolant is not being circulated thru the engine...like i said i had a new water pump installed but not a thermostat...i got one today but didnt install it...(car is still parked up 30 miles from here) oil levels and transmission fluid levels are fine...a/c does not work just circulates lukewarm or room temperature air....im not sure if the radaitor works...the two fans spin on it so i dunno (im pretty new with cars) I dont think i blew a head gasket...because the car will still crank but will run for about 5/10 minutes before engine overheats...I was concerned about a leak but I checced it out and it seems to be no leaks or either a really slow one...now the coolant will flow through the first big rubber pipe connected to the radiator but the second one next to the air filter wont, it was way more hot (overheated) as compared to the one next to the coolant over flow tank on the other side of the radiator...I've been hearing that it might be a problem with the thermostat and I can take the thermostat out and see what happens...but besides that im stumped...so if any of you have any suggestions or advice plz lemme know...also im going to take it to the shop to get everything looked at...because it hasnt had a tune up yet...(well since i brought it) speaking of shop i need to get my 07 Zuki Forenza out of it (Ex Girlfriends! DO NOT LET THEM DRIVE YOUR CAR!!!!! :banghead: :grinyes: )

Replace the t'stat and make sure to bleed the system, if you need the procedures go to autozone.com, repair guides.
