Driver's Seat Annoying cushion problem fixed.

The wife drives this thing.

Getting in and out of the driver's seat, often her dress/pants are torn by a 1/8" thick metal rod sticking out of the upholstery on the left (door side) of where your ass is.

I had a closer look. I think inside the cushion, there was originally some kind of joining clip that held two ends of the metal spring-frame under the upholstery.

So there were actually TWO metal bars, eventually protruding upward, and sticking through when a leg plops down on the edge of the seat.

Rather than attempt to rejoin the two bars, I took a pair of vise-grips and bent both ends into little circles, folding over the sharper ends, and creating rounded ends.

Then I bent the bars to point downward, deeper into the cushion. Its important to check where they end up when there is a significant weight (someone's heavy ass) on the seat edge.

Satisfied that no more clothing would be ruined by the simple act of sitting, I covered the tear / hole with ducttape. Better would have been some heavy stitching or a patch.
