I was wondering if anyone had ever replaced a idler pulley and is it easy enough to do? I have a 93 chevy 4.3, any information would be great.

usually just a center bolt or 2 bolts. problem is - they often break or don't want to come out. so i'd spray them with quickwrench or other penetrating lubricant several times and let them sit for a while, meaning - 30 min or so, soaking. and have VERY well fitting socket. GM bolt heads ain't worth a flip.

Yes it is, usually one bolt is all that's holding it on. I have 5.7L and I thought the pulley was squeaking so I cahnged it, no problems. However, it wasn't the culprit, I had a AC pulley alingment issue that was cauing the squeeking, not the idler.
