Refrigerant

I need to put some refrigerant in my 2002 ford taurus. I am not sure how much I am supposed to put in or exactly how to do it? I have the hose kit for it. Can someone please help me?

A set of Refrigerant Gauges are pretty much required to to check the system. If there is no refrigerant in the system, you may evacuate the system with a vacuum pump and add 2 cans as a general rule for this vehicle.

Tarjer, do you have any specific questions? If you have the hose set with a gauge on it with a blue "good" section or like on it, 25 to 45 psi, that is the range you want the system to cycle within. When properly charged, it will stay within this range and will slowly or even hardly at all turn on and off when it is hot. Your center air vent air temp should be 35 to 55 deg F, but when it is very hot, the cold air should be at least 20 deg F colder than the outside air.
