1995 s-10 2.2 L 2wd 5 spd .......when stopping i get a grinding noise from the front passenger side wheel area right before the truck comes to a complete stop . it sound like used brake pads grinding into the rotor but i have inspected these and seem good to me, also checked and repacked the wheel bearings . i have no idea what else would make this noise other than brakes ...... any ideas???

Is the pad scraper hitting rotor?
How much lining left on all pads?
Any rocks or bent splash shields?
Does it only do it with brake on?

the scraper is not hitting the rotor
the pads look almost brand new
i took the caliper , pads and rotor all off and i didnt notice and rocks or bent splash shield but i honestly wasnt looking for them , and yes it only does it when the brakes are applied and evern then it doesn't start as soon as you hit the brakes coming to a stop[ sign braking noramally it only grinds the last few seconds

If all else fails I would try a new set of good quality pads.
Good luck

Are you sure it isn't the ABS activating? That would cause a "grinding" sound at speeds below about 10mph.

there are no rocks in there no bent splash guard adn there is only rear abs on it , so i guess i will try a new set of pads
