Allright after spending a ton of money on this car I am forced to do so again. The tranny is slippin something fierce.I found another tranny of the same model but it is in a 2000 and mine is a 2004.I am trying to find out if threr will be any grief in swapping theese trannys. Is there any design changes that would inhibit or prohibit me from swapping.I need help my wife is on my ass about fixing this thing everyday.I checked on prices and just for the soft parts kit is 450.I may just have to go that route as an 04 taurus in this town is hard to come by apparently. Thanks

The Hollander Interchange shows 2004-2007 AX4N as compatible. The 2000 AX4N transmission does not have any other year interchange. I do not know what the differences are, but I suspect it is with internal parts or interface with the PCM.
