Engine Removal Difficulty??

Hey guys first post here. Had a question about the difficulty level in removing the engine from a 1993 stealth twin turbo rt. Alot a mechanics ive talked to dont even want to touch it. Ive removed and repaired a motor in a 2003 ford f250 7.3 deisel so im not entirely dumb founded bout the whole ordeal. I just keep hearing bout how "high tech" these motors were. Dont wanna get into a mess. Thanks for the help.

honestly...an engine pull in prettymuch an engine pull, and there are plenty of walkthroughts on the 'net to help you if you get stuck. I would recommend reading them through completely before starting. Yes, the 6G72TT is a fairly high-tech motor, but that doesnt neccesarily mean that pulling it is any more difficult. The only thing you want to make sure NOT to do is remove the timing belt and let everything just spin free, with the intent of setting the timing later. the 6G72 is an interference engine, so the valves can hit the pistons and be damaged.

I've used write-ups on that site before, and he seems to do a pretty thurough(sp?) job. Cross-refrencing another write-up is always a good idea though.

Thanks bud. Thats what i figured.didnt know why people were makin such a big deal bout it. Thought id ask around before i tried it though.

A lot of mechanics do not like to mess these because of the timing. I myself worked at a dealer and love them.

Its basically like any other engine pull.

Beings it FWD based pull the trans with the engine. Always makes it easier.

Just keep track of all the miscelaneous bolts that are removed.
