Tweeter kit doesn't produce sound

Hi all,

My wife has an 2008 Forester and purchased the tweeter kit. The installation was easy, but they produce almost no sound. If you turn the stereo up and hold your ear next to the tweeter, you can hear some hissing along with a slight amount of music. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Is it the tweeters or the stereo system?

The tweeters have a high frequency filter to keep the low frequency power out of them. So given that if your stereo is not driving these frequencies for whatever reason you will hear only a faint sound.
Try adjusting your tone or equalizer so that the bass is less than your treble, or just crank the treble way up.
See if you can affect a change in your tweeter response.
