Overhead Console computer not working

I've got a 99 Olds Silhouette and the overhead console computer that gives the temp, mileage, etc just stopped working. It is totally blank, no readout at all. Any advice or help on how to get it working again would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its not going the help you much, but my display went dark as well. I am pretty competent at repairing electronic devices so I took mine down and had a go at it. The display tube is a sealed glass flouescent type and it failed. I've been looking for replacements for a couple years with no luck. Best option is to search the junk yards and ebay, but I've not had much luck so far.

if you look at the green part you will probably see a black spot and its toast. go to a salvage yard and get one from a late '98 or '99 gm car or truck as from what i've seen they are the same.i got one out of a '99 silverado and it works.in think i gave $5.00 for it as they were going to crush the truck.

I have a '99 Montana, the overhead computer quit working a few years ago. Noticed that water was leaking into the computer from gaps in the top corners of the windshield seal. Sealed the gaps with silicone, no more water leaking in but the computer never worked again. If you replace it, might want to make sure you don't have water leaks.

thats what got mine good old leaking windshield molding.
