Hi,

I have a 1997 Buick Century Custom. The AC has stopped blowing out cold air so I went to buy a can of R-134a Refrigerant plus oil. When I opened up the hood of the car, the only cap I could find was a green cap which was near the brake fluid container. So I removed the green cap and sprayed the refrigerant plus oil into it. Halfway through this, I realized that there was a black cap over to the left. And the can of the refrigerant did mention that most cars have a black cap for the refrigerant. So I then went over to spray it in the black cap.
Now I'm afraid that what I sprayed in the green cap could cause a problem. Could it be a fire hazard??

Any advice?

Thanks

sounds like you tried to charge into your evaporative canister (gas vapor) system- can't imagine any even went in- since the adapter would never fit on it-- so it should not be a problem- doe you ave any recently developed SES lites?

Thanks for the reply. - No, I don't have any new lites on.

So you think it's safe for me to drive if I got a some of that refrigerant into the evap canister?

Go for it- I can't imagine anything would come of it.
