Internal clock for BMW parts

In one of the previous threads Alan Wil have mentioned an internal clock for BMW parts that initiates a self-destruct after the warranty period ends.
This is realy disturbs me.
I wish to learn more about this situation.
Is there any way we can defend ourselvs?
May be we can discuss this a little bit more.
Waranty on my car has expired last year and literally 3 days after that I have a radiator replaced.
What to expect next....

No defense against BMW self-destruct...
Only defense is to buy a brand new BMW once the warranty runs out, as self-destruct timing is tied to the warranty.
