I have a 97 blazer, trans went out, so i took it to this person to rebuild it, when he was done i had a hard 1-2 shift for a pretty good while then one day 2 and overdrive went out im still driving it with 1 and 3 i just pull out hard and let off the gas and it skips 2 and goes into 3 does any one think its the valve body or the band it the trans. thanks. I took it to advance and they said it didnt store and trans codes.

Welcome to AF.
You need to find a repair shop with a good transmission capable scanner.
Have the transmission data read out and checked for codes.
If any codes post back code no.

Remember a 97 is a bad year on ign switches.
Check the ign switch power in and out.

I'm sorry to say this, but the person that rebuilt that trans didn't do you any favors. You need to drop the trans again and have them install "the beast" reaction sun shell. Those are the exact symptoms exhibited by a trans that has a failed reaction sun shell, a common problem on these transmissions. Also, there won't be any codes for this.

how hard would it be to put a 5 speed in my blazer and hook up things like speedometer and what years would work in my 97. thanks

More work and parts and expense on a change over than it is worth.
Check out the auto transmission and find out what the problem is.
97 is a bad year on ign switches.
Good luck

Get a good wiring diagram and check voltage into and out of ign switch.
Good repair manual or a all data sub and most public libarys has wiring diagrams for auto repair.

i dropped my trans pan to check the solenoids and remembered that you can check the band from there and it is paper thin. can i pull the trans and pull the pump and change the band.

A brand new band is paper thin.
That is the way they are made.

You need to get it on a transmission capable scanner and see what is going on.
Post back any codes.

Was there any trash or metal shavings in bottom of pan?

p0785 shift timming solinoid is what autozone scanner showed i worked the solinoids with a ground wire and they made a noise i did switch the two of them out to see if it changes anything . thats when i seen the band and assumed the band was the problem so i have not tried it yet guess i did not want to wast the trans fluid for no reason .thanks for any help.

Remember that while a solenoid may operate with power applied, it may still be out of tolerance. Test the resistance of the solenoid coils. Also, solenoids can break down when hot, so it might be best to use a heat gun to raise the temperature and test them again to see if the resistance changes substantially.

The early 1997 models used a different 3-2 control solenoid coil. The resistance for most solenoid coils is supposed to be in the range of 20-30 ohms, but the early 3-2 solenoids are 9-14 ohms. They are not interchangeable.

Critical to the operation of the system are the connections, including the main electrical connector above the right oil pan flange, and the connection harness inside the oil pan. Make sure the external connector is clean, tight, and undamaged. You can visually inspect the internal harness.

Further, even if a solenoid coil is within the acceptable range, the valve may yet have mechanical problems preventing operation.
