Hello, I am new to this website. I do not know much about engines besides the basics so I joined this forum to try and get some information from those of you who do. I got rid of an old Studabaker truck on the back of my Mom's property and there was an old engine in it. I am trying to identify it and see if it is worth trying to sell or get rid of for scrap. I tried to read as many numbers as I can off it.
Here is what I was able to find, says Cheverolet on top of the engine.
Is a 6 cylinder. I think it was the alternator, and on it reads Anderson IND. Delcro-Remy 1100010 3L24
On the block reads 3835918 GM14 Also reads GM9 383568T
Other side of the block B9 913
241
570
CON4 L1 3
These numbers do not mean much to me, I know this engine is old but don't know what vehicle it was in. Thanks for anyone who can help me identify what this is and if it is worth selling. I did take pics but not sure if you can post pics on this website, thank you! Jon
My dad was very good at fixing cars, the old ones but I didn't pick up that interest!
