Hi All,
Need a bit of guidance on this one.
I have a 2000 Jimmy and am having an intermittent problem
with shutdown while driving ( usually after a longer run )
Engine just dies out like someone shut off the key.
May start immediately, may take several cranks, occasionally requires a "rest" before restarting.
2nd problem. I noticed while driving this bear (belongs to the in-laws) that there seems to be some electrical problems in the cluster / gauges.
On high idle, or a steady throttle pressure, car in park,
the speedo will climb to about 4mph and then drop back to zero.
At a stop, turn signal on. the voltmeter pulses in time with the signal.
Finally, the fuel gauge is all over the place. ( am thinking a bad sender here)
The folks had the coil replaced on a recent trip when the shut down reared it's head. no joy there. still does it.
There are no codes set and i have run a road test with a reader attached. no luck there.
I've been readign back threads, and am thinking this whole mess is involved with the ign harness problem.
I appreciate any guidance you can give!
Thanks !

Check for lose of spark or fuel pressure when it quits.
Post back results.
Also Check all power feeds into and out of fuse boxes.
A check with a good engine capable scanner may show a problem.
Good luck.
