Engine turns over bot will not start

I got a "check traction control " message. Engine turns over but will not start. I also smelled pungent odour coming from front driver side wheelunder the hood. Any idea what needs to be done?

Trac Control isn't related to Engine not starting... it may be on as a side effect to the engine not starting and the key left on.

Some odor under the hood needs to be looked at.. there might be a dangerous condition that might cause severe damage.

This one won't be easy over the forums.. we can't smell anything :)
