As some of you may know I went to the Model Expo in Melbourne on the weekend and entered my latest model in the competition. First time I'd entered a competiotin since I was a kid so didn't expect much.
So was amazed to show up in the final day and discover my NZ Pug had taken out first prize in the "Competition - Modified" category  Most chuffed!
Collected a trophy and everything :D

The main focus of the Expo was military modelling, especially aircraft - it being the 100th year of poweered flight and all. However the automotive turnout was pretty decent and there were some very nice models about. Took plenty of pictures, anybody interested in seeing some?

Congrats on your win, its nice to see a competition winning model that hasnt got wings and a fan on the front like you see at too many of these shows, the modelling scene isnt wholly for 1/72 scale german fighters, although sometimes you have to wonder. Anyway keep up the great work :)

I think you're an example modeler for us rally car builders. I enjoy watching your work.

Bravo!
A deserved award!
I absolutely agree with Marco-Wrc!
I guess tthe little detail, the weathering had the final argument in the judges'decision.
Congrats, Olivier

Yeah, and some drivers make the statement 'any landing you can walk away from is a good landing' very true too :)

I must say that is one outstanding rally car! Love the work! How long have you been "rallying" cars for?

Congrats on the win! I remember seeing your car there. My first time at the model expo - good stuff - not a bad number of car entries. I must say, however, the younger chaps are giving the seniors a serious run for there money!!

Thanks everybody for the congratulations.
Seb: Making the trip to New Zealand is a bit of a stretch, Melbourne was far enough! Sorry, no progress on the Evo VI. Been fidling with a Stratos and a few other things. Will need to get focused if I'm to get anything new finished for Zeljko's contest in April.
Ronald: There were plenty of German WWII aircraft but fortunately they have their own categories.
Alex: Second was a very nice Toyota GT-One, CFed to the max. Was funny to have a curbside car like mine beat full detailed engine kits. I'll post a picture of it some time.
Bigfrit: Yes I like to think the weathering job clinched it :D
Clate: This Pug is my fifth rallycar, photos of them all are on my homepage. Built a few F1 cars and street Jaguars several years before, sadly none of those kits are still with us. The last three went missing when I moved to Wagga from Brisbane last year
