i need some advice... ive decided to go with a custom exhaust set up for my car... ive decided with 2.25 in piping... ive also decided just to get a universal muffler... here in lies the problem... now ive got even more options to choose from... i have an idea wut the muffler i want to get should look like... but wut im worried about is the sound... wut characterstics should i look for in a muffler? generally wut type of mufflers get the best sound and performance? is it the overall size of the muffler? the outlet/tip diameter? i do not want the bumble bee/lawn mower on crack sound... deep and thoaty is what i want... all help is much appreciated.. ive gotta get parts now b4 the money disappears... if u can... recommend brands and styles of mufflers if u can...

the only real different style that makes a difference is the twin loop by mugen or DC. otherwise its hard to say what size or shape would make a good sound. as i always tell people who ask it depends on experience. you have to hear the exhaust you want in person to really get the feel of it and how you like it. i really like the greddy evo, apexi N1, mugen twin loop, and tanabe (all tanabes are awesome). but then again its all opinion. it depends on what you like and what you hear. all those i named are deep and throaty. i hate bee cans too. but understand also that even just the can wont be cheap for a quality piece.

im telling you the best way to do it is drive around the streets or go a place where lots of fixed up cars will be and when you hear one you like ask what it is. the best and only way

like edman said just go to a meet or something in your area and listen and ask questions. But if you want deep sound the Apex N1 is a nice way to go, and greddy evos are nice and deep to quiet for my taste though. And you cannot go wrong with a Tanabe

If you want that nice deep sound id go with poisonfangs and go with the apex i muffler thats the deepest i know like a 5zigen screams like crazy and if u want mellow low sound id say like a trust exhaust shoot even some universal muffler with silencers are nice cause u can make it scream like crazy or just have it mellow......
