left rear wheel speed sensor 2000 GTP

HI. I have a 2000 Pontiac GTP. The abs light and tcs off light are on all the time. We had it scanned and were told the code was coming from the left rear speed sensor.Does anyone know where exactly it is located? Is this something that can be fixed on it's own or does the whole hub have to be replaced? This car is getting on my nerves! 2 days ago I was going down the road and the sway bar broke. Had real fun trying to find one of those but finally did. It will be here tomorrow. Replaced one front hub bearing a few months ago. Just had recall for valve cover gasket fixed. I love this car but it is really starting to push my buttons!!!!!

The ABS wheel sensor is located in the hub assembly. Therefore, you have to replace the complete hub. Also, make sure it is not an electrical connector or wiring issue.

Agreed , i see alot of people jump the gun with parts replacement to find it is just a bad connection or broken wire. Proper diagnosis is not a waste of money.

I did exactly this for a front hub for a friend. He brought the new hub asm and I replaced it only to find the weatherpack had gotten caught on something and a wire torn loose.

I replaced the hub, resoldered and heat-shrank the wire on the old part so he could have a spare part for the future.

A spare hub brg (even if roaring at speed) can make a nice rotary welding positioner if you have such a need in your shop (sort of a lazy susan for continuously welding round parts without a number of stops and starts.)

Interestingly the Grand Prix variants have nearly the same front knuckle and hub as the GM-200 "U" vans (minivans)...they share a similar underbody with the U-van obviously being a "stretched" version.
