I DONT WANT TO BE HITTING MY FRIENDS IN THE KNEE WITH THE SHIFTER. I think your best bet will be to go out and visit a few "automobile recycle centers" (also known as juckyards or boneyards to us older folks). Talk to the guys there, they can tell you what parts you need, how much it will cost, and how difficult or easy the job is. Best time to visit would be a week day, they get pretty busy on weekends and don't have much free time to talk. The best type of "yard" to visit is the old fashioned type of place, where the "office" is a desk in the corner of a messy shop. These guys get their hands dirty and know what they're talking about. The more modern places with nice clean sales offices with radios to contact the yard personnel aren't as free and easy with giving out good useful information. The person behind the counter generally has little experience with what you're looking to do and has to call in a yard person to answer your questions, who is not to happy with having to walk all the way to the office to answer a few questions,

Anyway, good luck with your conversion.
