S281SC problem

Friday the 13th I let a relative drive my car. He didn't listen when I told him 'don't beat on my car' and what does he do. He held the redline in 1st gear for about 5 seconds, shifted into second with the gas and clutch all the way down and popped off the clutch instantly. The car shut off but I was able to start it back up again. Took it to the ford dealership where they charged me $227 to run a diagnostic test and replaced ONE spark plug. The tip on the spark plug was bent to where it wouldn't ignite the 1st cylinder. The car was running fine after that. Then later that week the same thing happened to the 2nd cylinder so I replaced all my spark plugs with platinum high performance plugs. The week after that my engine light came on and on the thruway as I was accelerating in 3rd gear the car turned off on me and I had to use the manual break to come to a complete stop since my brakes weren't working. The entire car shakes like one of the cylinders is not firing up and there's a clicking sound coming from my engine. I don't know what caused the tip of the spark plugs to get bent down maybe from a piston rod? I ran a cheap diagnostic test on my car and it came up with a code for the 2nd cylinder. The car is driveable, it lacks power accelerating but once you get going it drives almost fine other than it's not at full power. Any input would be great if anyone has had similar symptoms/issues.

Bent electrodes USUALLY mean one thing - a rod/bearing problem that is allowing the piston to actually contact the spark plug. IF this is the situation, you have a very big engine problem. I hope this is not the case but I would seriously have some further diagnosis done - especially since you are "hearing" something.

Already found the problem, the head gasket was 'supposively replaced' by a place I took the car to get some work done to it. Well they didn't replace it, they used some kind of gasket goop to 'fix' the problem. The head gasket got sucked into the engine and weakened my 3rd cylinder valve and was stuck in the 3rd cylinder. While it was in there unburned fuel and air pressure was building up on the entire left side of the engine cylinders 1-4 causing the tips of the spark plugs to bend(from the pressure) to where they couldn't spark. Luckily none of the spark plugs were blown out of the car while it was on but the valve on the 3rd cylinder is weak and needs to be replaced a nice $800 fix for the screw ups that didn't really fix my gasket.

Still, that is better than a thrown rod bearing. I NEVER let anyone, unless I know them VERY well, drive my cobra. That is, however, a very weird problem. Another one I can "file" away for future reference. The modular ford engines have almost no head gasket problems, unlike other engines. Good luck to you.
