2000 towncar..brakes lights don't function

the fuse is fine but none of the brake lights go on...have replaced the brake light switch but that did not solve the problem

First, test the fuses with a meter or test lamp. 20A Fuse #10 & 20A Fuse #22.
We do this kind of diagnosis allot and many times the OP comes back with.. "thanks for the million suggestions, I finally tested that good fuse, it was bad" :evillol:
Next, verify the bulbs are actually working, yes they could all be blown. The High-mount (3rd brake light) bulbs need testing too.

While you are digging around back there I would check all the wiring to the lamps to ensure there are no brakes or frays.

All Brake lights are design in parallel and sharing 12volts.
If a light bulb go's bad replace ASAP,or the others will follow!
Just like a head light when it go's out,the other will get brighter and
burn premature.
