Surging when going into drive

Hey evreybody, I have this probleme that is when I put the truck into drive the RPMs rise from 600 at idle to about 1000 when going into drive and you can feel the truck surge foward. Now I am noticing it when the A/C is on even more so it is hard for the truck to stop it feels like I am two peddling it all the time now. I have a 98 Silverado 5.7 Z71.:screwy:
