Biggest upsets?!?!?!

My friend downloaded a Honda Civic hatchback...92-95..beat i swear a dodge viper..what was up with that???? it was on the streets not track.:eek:

i saw that same vid except on the track if thats true then why the hell have a viper if a 4 can beat you

For real..i thought vipers were spose to be special and could whip up on just about ne thing..and i had to watch the video like 5 times to believe it..i didnt understand..i know why buy a $85,000 car when u could buy a $6,000 and put $6,000-10,000 in it..at the most and beat a what is it 12 cylinder? or 10 somethign like that..it was a newer viper too...just kids racing!

If you notice... I believe that Civic (yellow is it?) has drag slicks in the street racing video I could be wrong been a while since i've seen it... the guy in the Viper wasn't toooo far behind but he still lost... Had the race been just a bit longer the Viper would of pulled ahead cause of its greater top end.


Remember also, even though the Viper is fast in the quarter, its not built for it. They are beatable... they're more tuned for road racing. But yeah, he lost to a well tuned Civic... big deal. Its not like every Civic is like that so i'm not worrying. haha :D

A quarter mile isn't the only time people care about. Sure the civic beat him in a straight. Will it ever get close to 200mph? No. I'm tired of all you ignorant dumbasses saying well my car was so much cheaper. The viper is still a viper, the civic a civic. Don't you understand how status symbols work? Jesus after that race go tell the viper owner to go buy a civic, I'm sure he'd laugh in your face. They had a car in some hot rod magazine that ran 8's for under 20K, on pump gas. Why don't we see those everywhere? It’s still an old mustang.

It wasnt a yellow civic..it was a real video tapped by kids..the civic was black and the viper was red w/ white stripes. It was on some back street totally illegal..the civic just had everything on it..plus " i live my life a 1/4 mile at a time" thats what everyone races unless it on the highway...but all i am saying was i couldnt believe my eyes..:eek:

if the suspension was tuned right the civic wouldent do too bad in the twisties either, anything is possible with money

Comfortable cloth seats, no leather option.
Plastic covered steering wheel, again no leather option.
Monsterous 100 hp 4-cylinder. Ah the demon in the car.
Front-wheel-drive - the choice of true drag racers

Shit what doesn't it have man its awesome. A 100 hp I can't imagine how fast that is. My truck came with 180hp damn thats so slow.

I dunno why do you think people buy Vipers and Corvettes? To flaunt their wealth perhaps? How many millionaires do you see buy a Honda Civic instead of a Lamborghini or a Viper because they saved so much money? And the "save the planet" idiots don't count.

You're paying more for the name, recognition, and status more than anything else, as with any exotic car. A Civic can NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER match that EVER NEVER EVER. Like that other guy said above, I don't understand why some people don't understand that. It's not about the speed and power. Or at least that's not ALL it's about. Maybe once you're more familiar with vehicles and the economy, and how people think and how things work you'll understand:rolleyes:
I think the video you're talking about is a friend of mine. Used to post on here and purehonda.com a loooonnnggg time ago. Also over at superhonda.com and honda-tech.com. Went by the name of St00pid and the video is practically legendary at this point. He's a real cool guy and his car is very nice. 24lbs through his built motor on that run. Viper never really had a chance:)

lesson of the moment: any car is pretty much beatable by something less expensive to build..... sooner or later.

hope you not talkin to me i said anything is possible with money and civics arent that bad in the twisties didnt say they were the greatest thing not even close and yea my seats are comfortable go sit in one if you havent, i dont see why you have to bean asshole about it just because everyone has a civic doesent mean you have to hate them, everyone has a tv do you hate tv?

There will ALWAYS be a faster car whether you own a viper, a civic, a mustang or whatever, just because it has a v-10 doesn't make it unbeatable.

This statement here looks to me like you would rather have the Civic over the Viper. Yes I did re-read your post and it doesn't look like you were being sarcastic about it.

haha...the point here guys is that no matter the amount of money into a civic, its still not comparable to the high-end cars. it wasn't built for that, an it will never be looked at like that out-side of the racing community. i personally love the civic h/b's (light car that u can fit most motors in, wuts not to love?) but of course if i had money to actually buy a nice car, then i'd say "forget civics" an get something nice to roll in. jus because a car is AS fast as another, doesn't make it on the same level...but still it is a great moment for import racing (in that video).

Nice comeback...i was just stating how much cheaper civics are than vipers captain obvious..but if u wouldnt take a viper over a civic than u deserved to be shipped to japan..or somewhere like that..i would definetly take a viper over a civic..but ne ways..yeah that was a great day for the import scene.I hate it when people try and act cooler than they actually are.

The Venom 400 is a fuel piggyback system. Venom make alot more than just Nitrous.
