Revell did a 1/25 Engine... It MIGHT not look too undersized to a Tamiya EF9!
But if you want to go CRAZY CRAZY,you can sacrifice a Tamiya NSX engine...
I was planning to do that someday, since the lack of revell kits in Japan, but I found a gentle [And patient ] person who'd send me two revell kits! :D
I might do that in the future... Oh,and there is a RARE sakatsu [?] F20C for the tamiya S2000. If you find one,and be insane enough to mod it until it's a B16,good luck! :p
EDIT: I was thinking... I'm a No-Corolla guy,but I don't consider AE86's as Corollas,so... There is a Aoshima AE86 with engine out there, you can try matching the block to the oil pan existent on the chassis!

Revell is the best bet for engine. Perhaps the B18_ from their integra is a bit bigger, which will make up for the 1/25 shrunken size when you are trying to remodel a 1/24 car with B16A. If you are looking for a simple project to rest your mind, I suggest leaving the model curbside. Focusing to remake the rear end should be quite an intensive job already.
Can't wait to see the WIP thread from you!

Wow.
So, what kit are you using for the EF chassis? Are you modifying a Fujimi CRX to a hatch? I only know of one EF kit and it is an impossible to find resin transkit for said CRX model.
The only option for a motor aside from scratchbuilding it is the engine in the Revell kits. This will be undersized in a 1:24 model, though, and the B18 in the Integra is definitely not any bigger than the B16 in the Civic, in scale or in real life. Using the Sakatsu engine or the NSX engine as donors wouldn't really work, either, because they are so very different from the B series engines. You might as well be scratchbuilding for all the modification you'll be doing.

actually i think the b18 is a bit taller, hence the reason you can put a b18 header on a b16 crx because it will sit to low and hit the ground every bump. ask me how i know lol
