2007 Nissan Quest - Battery vs. Alternator

My 2007 Nissan Quest would not initially start yesterday. After a couple turns of the key it just went to a click. I waited a few minutes and it reluctantly started up. I noticed that the trip odometer was reset to zero and when I went to shut side auto door it didn't work, so I had to get out and manually shut it.
My husband tried starting this morning and again it wouldn't start. The horn was weak.
He went out later on to check the lights and amazingly the car started with no problem. He turned off the car, waited an hour and again the car started up with no problem.
Any clue on what the problem might be and if it could have fixed itself?
Update: My husband again had trouble starting the car. Looks like problem still exists

Have you checked the battery post and cable connections? Clean them up and see what happens.

Yes, my husband cleaned connections yesterday.
This morning the car will not turn over at all. Just get a clicking noise, and the trip meter is set back to 0 again.
I'm going to have our Quest towed to the Nissan dealership as this issue should be covered under the warranty.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Regards,
Megan
