Anyone have their PCM reflashed?

I have a 2000 LS V8 and it hesitates when i'm in 5 when it hit the gas. I read there is a common problem with 00 and 01's where this happens because of a PCM error. its not programed right for the transmission. I am not throwing any codes. With a reflash the transmission is suppoesd to shift the way it was designed to. Anyone have this done and did it help. My therory for the time being is that so many transmission rebuilds are necessary because the timing is off causing unnecessary hard shifting to occur more frequently and then causing the transmission to burn out quicker. I am thinking with a reflash to the proper timing you can get more milles out of your tranny.
