ok, probable stupid question but its been on my mind. i got 2.5 inch drop springs that im gonna put on my 93 civic soon and i wasnt sure if i should get adjustable shocks/struts or not. i was leaning toward tokico blues- but i wasnt sure if they would ride poorly/ blow out earlier because of the drop. if anyone has advice lemme know. thanks :D

Remember you get what you pay for. With that low of a drop you will need some good/quality shocks. Ones that can handle a drop like that. I know Koni only warrenties up to a 2" drop over stock. So next best bet would be AGXs or KYBs. The Blues wouldn't be able to last long with that drop and I'm not sure about AGX or KYB either.

The AGXs are KYBs. I had them on my 94 dx with a 2.75 drop, it was a pretty rough ride even when I had them on 1. The AGXs are just a stiff strut period. They kick ass on the SCCA tracks though. If i were to buy struts again it would be the tockico illuminas. They have a sweet ride on 1 and if you go out to the track 5 will make you feel like you're on rails. They can also handle the drop. Oh yeah, the blues are non-adjustable.

SCCA tracks? Do you actually road race? Cause I've never heard of anyone using AGXs or Tokicos for road racing. Maybe Koni Yellows or Motons.
But my Tokico Illuminas lasted about 2-3 months with my Skunkworks coilovers. So I wouldn't buy those again.
I have custom rate Ground Controls on Koni Yellows which are almost twice the stiffness of my Skunkworks coilovers and the Koni yellows are still running like a champ.

I've seen people out on a track with stock suspension. So why would it be so unbelievable for someone to have illuminas or AGXs. Especially sense my car is daily driven and not a full-out track car. The AGXs make excellent track struts they are just too damn harsh for a daily driver. Makes sense doesn't it? What was the whole point of that gay question anyway? Here, you might want to look at this link. It might allow you to understand why they "might" be seen on an SCCA track.

Why would you need the extra stiffness? Your car must be hammered. If your car is at a reasonable height with sufficient suspension travel then i would think extra stiffness would be overkill. You wouldn't be using your struts to their full ability.

Thats too much of a drop for blues. You definitely need adjustables. Blues are for a more conservative, softer setup.

koni yellows actually can take drops up to 15cm that would be 6".
