other way around, they think they can make black metal mainstream. black metal freaks think anything mainstream isn't satanic enough. to be tr00 kvlt is to have NO ONE like you.

i think indie-rock geeks from the gay side of greenwich villiage and kvlt freaks are one and the same.

as for Cradle of Filth, they're not exactly my thing. they're heavy, but i don't really catch on. Dimmu Borgir is heavier as far as mainstream black metal goes. Or, check out Behemoth, who has been around forever and have only recently become popular because of their shift from black metal to death metal with blasphemous black lyrics

Good call on Behemoth. I hope they rerelease all their old stuff now that their big. If their earlier albums had better production value (re: better than the sound of some kids goofing around with Pro Tools in a garage), those albums would be epic.

Well there'd still be the old copies out there for the br00tal tr00 kvlt metal kids. I'm just a sound quality nazi, so it's painful to listen to really good songs with really shitty production value.

i hear ya. a lot of lo-fi music isn't even mastered. it makes such a big difference.
