rebuild kit

Heard some squealing coming from my rear brakes, so I took the wheel and caliper off. Pads are worn and my boot is torn. Ok no problem, I'll replace the pads and boot. Well, went down to the auto parts store and was told rear brake rebuild kits are no longer made.

Can anyone tell me if the front brake piston is the same size as the rear. I was thinking (that's what usually gets me in trouble) that I can buy a front rebuild and use it for the back.

Oh, forgot to mention I have a 98 blazer 4x4, 4.3 'w' eng. I would hate to have to spend $80 for a caliper when a $10 kit will do.

Rebuilt calipers are you best way to do it.
Sometimes as cheap as a caliper kit.
And always check rear brake hoses.
And lubercate all caliper hard wear.

Well not as cheap as a rebuild kit. Just bought 2 reman. calipers at 50 bucks a piece, where the rebuild kit was $5.99 each. I say was because they don't make brake rebuild kits anymore for my truck(front or back).

May not be as cheap but is the best way to go.
A rebuilt caliper has new pistons and hardware to.
Good luck
