2003 ford ranger bogging down

hello,
I have a 2003 ford ranger with a 2.3liter and it is 2wd. it has 109 thousand on it. On the way home from work i was at a stop light gave it gas and it bogged down and would barely go over 20 with the gas to the floor. After i put it to the floor for a few lights it all of a sudden came back to life. I was wandering what you guys thought might cause this. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

This problem can be attributed to a few things.
Possible problems can be,
Fuel filter(s) clogged.
Fuel Pump on the way out.
Water in the tank clogging the filter(s).
Sediment in the tank clogging the filter(s).
There is a paste you can purchase to see if there is any water in the tank, it turns a different color in the presence of water.
