I have just about had it with this stupid Bravada (1999) !! :banghead:
Today, I go to park in my driveway, but I usually pull the rear in first. So as I was pulling up backwards, I hit the breaks and put it into park, BUT the car proceeds to roll forwards!!
So I try to move the gear shift (looks as if its in Park) and the gear shift is locked. It will NOT budge
So now I have to engage the parking break so it doesn't roll forward into the street.
Wheels are straight, key is in the ignition...I turn the key off, but now I can't start the car (because it's acting like it's out of gear).
***When I push the button on the gear shift, I hear a "click" in the ignition panel, just inside where the key goes.
I try turning to on, aux, off, on again, start...that gear shift will not budge!!!
Anyone have any idea what I'm looking at here??? Nothing is leaking underneath.
I have never had problems with the transmission, or ignition before. This just shocked me...it came out of nowhere!
It will be towed to the shop tomorrow as I have no choice, but if this is going to be a transmission thing (or ignition thing), I am putting a "for sale" sign on it the minute it comes out of the shop!!!
I got hit a few months ago (minor tailgate damage, but still quoted $2900!!! and guess where all that money is going....to car repairs!) at least my car will drive, but it will still look ugly. Now I have no $$$ to fix the car damage! UGH!!!
I should have never bought this stupid SUV.
