hydraulic lifters

hi i have a question i have a nissan sentra b12 1989 and when i start my engine has a loud noise coming through the lifters. i send this car to the mechanic and he said the lifters are bad ,he want to puted new but i dont think so. could exist a method to quiet a little more those lifters anticipate thanks to the help.

if they need replaced there not much you can do but replace them, id try it yourslef however, it will save money and its really not so bad
