Current is going through the 1st and 2nd spark plugs. There is no spark at the 3rd. So I replaced it, but still got no spark. Replaced the cable, still no spark. Could it be the distributor that I need to replace, or am I way off here? Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I know nothing about this stuff. I know how to check for a spark from the distributor cap with my spark tester, and I am fully capable of changing spark plugs (although they are very difficult to reach in this car).

So what am I checking for on the distributor cap and rotor? Thanks for helping, btw.

Look for moisture in it and cracks and carbon tracks form a crack.
Also check for dist shaft side play.
Good luck

Thanks. I'll check when I get home. If I do find these problems, does that mean I need to replace the distributor cap, or the entire distributor?

I've taken really good care of this car over the years (only has 120K miles), and only use it for towing a few things (small lumber, ATV, etc). I've always had a repair center take care of everything, but I thought maybe I could start saving some money and do some of the simpler things myself (with help from folks like you on these message boards). If this is too labor intensive to check and fix these things, then I'll have it towed to the repair center down the street. If you think I should be able to do these things myself, then I'll stick with it.
