I have recently purchased a stripped 1978 Mustang II. It had no engine or transmission, but originally had the 4cyl with a manual.

I know the Shelby version came with a 302 engine. It was way underpowered as we all know. So my question is going to be when looking for a new or rebuilt 302. Will a 302 that has been beefed up to 350hp +/- fit in to the car properly?

No Shelbys in '78.
The "King Cobra" option was available.

No, 350hp +/- is too much hp.
It will not fit properly.
