Is there a cap I can get to cover that bearing nut and axle stub up front? I want to run the standard steel wheel alone, no hub cap like the cop cars.

I don't know of any dust caps for the front hub of a front wheel drive car. It isn't common to put anything over the end of the stub other than a hub cap or center cap of an aluminum wheel.

Thanks for responding, GTP Dad,
My '89 Mazda MX-6 had the same hub/brake disc assembly and included a press in cap on the end.

Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something like that. I have never seen one for and American Model but that does not mean that they don't exist. In PA the police run a small hubcap the covers the lugs and wheel centers. You may want to go with something like that if you can't find a cover for the axle shaft end.

Have you tried the doorman HELP section? You might want to measure the size of cap you need and then just buy one and see if it fits.
Problem is going to be the axel shaft might stick out too far for the cap to completly seat.
