i am sure this has been asked before but i am not finding it. So i have a 1993 grand am gt with a 2.3L quad4 HO runs great but bad mileage and SES light i scanned my system and discovered an O2 sensor code(low volt/Open) and Low volt/Open code on my coolant temp sensor but other then that nothing then i checked active data and found that all 4 of the quad drivers are toggled to BAD and i am stuck in open loop mode so i started to search for a ground wire that may be disconnected and have yet to find one so i am wondering if ANYBODY has an idea or a wiring diagram
Any help greatly appreciated
thanks dave

Any help greatly appreciated

Did you inspect the wiring for these two ??
Have you replaced the O2 sensor or the Temp sensor?
This link might help explain the "quad driver" and might help you locate your problem(s).

And here is a list of wire diagrams (http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/09/d4/90/0900823d8009d490/repairInfoPages.htm)that will also help.

(still have a bad temp seonsor)fixed o2sensor... the o2sensor plug was bad and i just cut it off and connected the wires with a barrel connector works great i will look at the quad driver link you provided me with
thank you

Did you clear the codes after you repaired the circuits/sensors ???
Just because you have a Quad driver code doesn’t mean the Quad driver is bad. All a Quad driver code means is that an expected value is not present when it’s suppose to be. A Quad driver is a techy name for 4 on-off switches arranged in a group, hence the name Quad driver.
The computer watches the voltage values on each switch and knows that if the switch is on, a voltage value will be seen. When the switch is off the opposite voltage value will be seen. Simply put, light on, light off.
So what can set a quad driver code? You’d be surprised.
How about a bad bulb? How about a bad fuse? The answer is yes to both questions. Yes, a bad bulb or failed fuse can set a Quad driver code. Start with checking your fuses. There can be up to 3 fuses that supply power to circuits controlled by the Quad drivers.
If the fuses are good, the next check would be of all or some of the following, depending on how your vehicle is equipped: Up shift light bulb, coolant hot bulb, shift to drive bulb, A/C relay, coolant fan relay, EGR solenoid, Canister Purge solenoid, even a speedometer output signal goes to one of the switches on the Quad driver.
It’s likely that the Quad driver code is present because the computer is not seeing the information that it expects to see at one of the switches.
Thier are many grounds , the wire diagrams should have shown where they are located.. but as long as the temp sensor is bad you wont get rid of the quad code(s).
What exactly were the trouble codes ??
